As temperatures drop during the winter months, you may be thinking about a new jacket that will keep you warm and dry. But what’s the best choice for you? The variety of new hi-tech materials in jackets these days can be confusing. We’ve written a guide to explain what you can expect from each material and the products we offer.

Hydrafort

Hydrafort is a material used by Regatta in their jackets which is both waterproof and windproof. It provides protection from the elements whilst also reducing the production of body heat, making it perfect for casual outdoor activities like country strolls and dog walking.

You can find it in Regatta’s Men’s Waterproof Skysail and Ladies Waterproof Paso Fishtail Parka both of which we stock on our site.

Keeta II JacketIsotex

Regatta isotex fabric is also waterproof, windproof and breathable, keeping you dry and comfortable. It keeps the water out whilst the hydrophilic breathability system allows inner moisture vapour to escape. The DwR outer fabric reinforces the waterproof quality and helps the water to run off whilst adding to the garments windproof performance.

Some isotex fabrics also boast a stretch quality. They contain active fit stretch yarns providing greater comfort and movement.

Take a look at Regatta’s Northfield Jackets for men and Keeta II jackets for ladies that feature this fabric.

Fortress StornowayThermo-guard insulation

If warmth is your primary concern, then take a look at Regatta’s Roanstar waterproof and breathable jacket for women featuring thermo-guard insulation. Or the Fortress Stornoway jacket with brushed cotton quilted lining for men. These jackets will ensure you keep out the cold on a day-to-day basis.
